Sara Allerton

Sara Allerton lives in Suffolk with her husband and three children. Making Shore is her first novel. Since publication of Making Shore in June, she has been delighted with the response, whether in the form of reader reviews (see some here), or the many questions and comments that have arisen during her talks, signings and radio appearances. Perhaps most exciting of all was the recognition she achieved by winning the summer fiction section of the People's Book Prize.

Born in Lancashire, Sara grew up in Yorkshire and moved south to study for her English degree after taking a year off in Australia. She has since taught English in Spain and worked for a small publishing house. Success in a short-story competition prompted her to consider writing a novel. Two years in the writing, Making Shore is her exciting debut.
